ABOUT

Jinhee Park

NYC Based Artist

jinseikou@gmail.com

Jinhee Park(Artist name, jinseikou) is a Seoul, S.Korea born(1980) and NY, U.S. based artist. Since 4th grade, she has learned and worked across a number of classic techniques including watercolor, oil painting and dessin through the traditional fine art curriculum in Sunhwa Arts School (and her mother's little art school.)

She graduated with the second-class Honor degree in Visual Information Design from Ewha Womans University(2002). After graduation in Korea, she chased the career path of a Japanese American media artist, John Maeda and ended up studying and researching about interactive Design & Art in University of Tsukuba, Japan. She also worked for a well-known video game company in Tokyo as a graphic designer for 5 years. Eventually she spent a decade of her life in an exotic country, Japan.

(See more her previous career)

Jinhee started new chapter of her life in the U.S.,2011. It is no surprise that She became an artist, albeit after a four year-detour helping for early-stage startups build their brand identities from Logo to Web design. She has been trying to figure out the way of getting on the "(b)right" track to be an artist and also struggling to create unified, cohesive, coherent, related bodies of her art works.

Since 2016, she has received the awards from Minted Art Challenge, which collaborated with West Elm, Pottery Barn, etc. Her art works have been presented on Minted including commissioned arts.

(Her Artist name, jinseikou is originally from "人生コウだ" in Japanese. It means "Life is like THIS".)
